Can Business Meetings and Conventions be held in the Bay Islands and Honduras?

Located only 2 hours from Miami, Honduras offers a convenient location for Business Meetings or Conventions. The larger cities of San Pedro Sula and Tegucigalpa and Roatan Island all provide international airports, modern communications networks and first class hotels with first rate service and conference and meeting equipment and facilities.

Additionally these locations provide a range of international and national restaurants and a wide range of local attractions. Honduras also enjoys a privileged status as a destination for conferences that are organized by US companies. United States Internal Revenue Code section 274 (h) and IRS Revenue Ruling 94-56, Honduras is considered within the “North American Area” in regards to deductions for convention expenses. Therefore, US companies and organizations hosting conventions, seminars or similar meetings in Honduras, or individuals attending such meetings, are entitled to the same considerations for deductibility as if the conventions were held in North America.
