    Hi Marge.

My husband swears by Cactus Juice! The little buggers love him and he's
    tried
lots of different 'remedies' with Cactus Juice producing the best results.
    It
has made his vacations (and mine!) much more enjoyable.

FYI ... I have been to CocoView, byt never as a guest, but I have heard
nothing be wonderful things about the resort and its staff.

    Enjoy your trip!

    Hi Marge:

I like the cabanas best just because they're over the water and I love
listening to the waves gently lapping the cabana support posts as I fall
asleep.  The no-see-ums are pretty much everywhere except on the dive boats
but that's not a problem isolated to just Roatan....they're all over the
    Caribbean.

As for the no-see-ums.......you'll hate me:-)  I don't wear any kind of
protection because they don't bite me....mosquitoes either.  Don't know
why....drives my dive buddies nuts as they're swatting and spraying and
looking like they have the measles.  There's a product sold on Roatan, and
    at
CoCo View assuming they aren't temporary 'out'....it's called Cactus Juice.
It's derived from cactus, of course and is all natural.  You do have to
    apply
it more frequently than DEET but if I had to use something, I'd use the
Cactus Juice.  DEET kinda scares me due to its properties and I've read that
it can harm neoprene and some rubber products...and it smells.  Cactus Juice
    has no odor.

Let me know if I can answer any other questions.  I've got one for
you........how are you getting to Roatan, via what route?  May have some
    hints for you on that.

    Becky

Becky,  Thanks for your comments.  My husband and I are looking forward to
our dive trip very much.  What about the cabanas?  I've been told to make
sure we stay over the water because the no-see-ums will eat you alive.  I'm
suffering right now from those nasty bug bits that I didn't even know I was
getting until three days later.  What did you use to keep them at bay?

Hi Sue,  Thanks for another rave review for cactus juice.  I wonder if I =
can order it directly from cocoview ahead of time, to make sure I have =
it on hand, and legs, and face and arms.  Ha Ha.  No kidding, I really =
    suffer from those little things.
