Hi Roatan List Members,
There are now 50 of us here! Tom kind of kicked it off today, but I would like to open the floor to anyone who wants to introduce themselves. This includes anyone who is renting something, selling something, or offering services related to Roatan. Commerce is OK on this list, which can be an excellent resource if we jump in and give our opinions (respectfully, as we all know) on what's good and bad.
I did a short intro a little while after I started the list, but here's a recap:
Over the past ten years, I've spent roughly half that time in Roatan, the Honduran mainland, or El Salvador. I was on Roatan full time for a little over two years doing Web things, working on a contract for an engineering company, and doing construction oversight.
I also took over www.roatanet.com around four years ago after a friend of mine left the island. Here's a little commercial bit. I do discounted web design, site promotion, linking, and hosting for people on Roatan. I'm in the US now and also provide those services to companies there, but not discounted. When I first went to Roatan, I believe that only a handful of people on the island had ever seen the Internet. It's been very exciting to bring thousands of people to the island over the years via the website.
That's about all.
