I would most adamantly avoid Fantasy Island right now. I've stayed across
the channel from Fantasy Island for almost 2 weeks just last month. The new
management at Fantasy Island has instituted a new "activity" on Thursday
nights. Around 8:30 p.m. every Thursday now the resort is opened to the
public for a rock music night. Loud speakers blare some of the worst rock
in the history of music. No one can sleep and around midnight, just when
you think you'll go insane, they turn up the speakers even louder. One of
their favorite songs is a piece with cats squalling in the
background.....and they play it over and over. It's so loud that even
guests at CoCo View can't sleep.

Fantasy Island management has been asked to turn the music down and they've
refused. The clamor has been reported to the local police with no results.
If guests across the channel at CoCo View can't sleep, I can only imagine
how awful it must be for the guests at Fantasy Island.

I've survived 2 of Fantasy's rock nights and would never consider staying
there because of their callous disregard and lack of respect for both their
guests and those across the channel. We were so disgusted that we proposed
a night dive over to Fantasy---with no dive lights, carrying only demolition
tools and wire cutters so we could dismantle their speakers and deep six
them. We thought it might be a good experiment---see how long it took
marine life to start growing on submerged speakers:-)

So.....if you want peace and quiet......don't go to Fantasy
Island....or.....check out on Thursday nights and stay down on the West End,
and check back in on Friday.
