I would like to get a rough idea from this group of residents regarding the
    following:
    > 1) If an American style facility were available to board pets would you
    use it?
    >
    > 2) If not, why not? If so, how often?

Thank you all for your responses, (I think), especially you Steve. This idea
is simply a service I am considering. Of course, it would mainly serve the
gringos. It's conceived to employ 1 or 2 locals on a part time basis. I
assume the rate would be about half of what is charged in the states. There
is NO intention of getting rich, or even enough to sustain on the income
generated. Just a little kennel, a place where people can drop off 'Fido',
or 'Fluffy', or maybe 'Polly' for a day, week, or month, while their owners
go to Ceiba, or the States, the Mediterranean, or wherever else people go
when they leave the island. While they are gone, their animal is in good
care, special instructions, Vet # and, or, appointments are kept, emergency
ph. #s etc. No neighbors, no favors, no watchie, no poison. Upon return, pet
is bathed etc. Happy little service. If a couple of airline tickets per year
were realized in the profit column, that would be swell! My expectations
are low, and realistic. Donald Trump have no fear. This is, as I said, a
service mainly for ex-pats, not tourists. (established tourist trade, fear
    not!)
Just an idea that I thought might be worth throwing into this medium. Thanks
    again for your responses.
    Regards,
    John B.
