Please folks, if you don't own the Roatan "Clinic Book" buy one.
Everyone who comes here asks about medical/dental care. So here's your chance to help make it happen!
We have the books for sale here as does just about everyone else on the island. $55 is not high for all the wonderful color photos of our beautiful island home! Everyone loves this book! The esteemed professor DKE from this list wrote in it. Does that help? It IS very well written, large and awesomely color photographed from cover to cover.
The money REALLY DOES go to support the clinic--a VERY worthwhile cause. The sellers are allowed to keep only $5 of the $55 sales price--we (and probably most others) don't even keep that and give the entire $55 price to the clinic.
SO BUY THIS BOOK!!!!
If you do, call us at 991-3263 once you arrive on Roatan and we'll give you instructions on how to get here and treat you to a free beer at Coral Beach and/or a snorkel off our beach. (we do NOT typically accept non-paying guests to our pristine snorkel trails, beach or facilities except for announced parties so this IS a special thing to support the clinic)
No brag. Just fact. We have once of the BEST snorkels and/or wall dives walk in right off our private access white sand beach!
SO BUY THIS BOOK!
Also, since it was asked about on the list, you can get decent dental care there at this clinic now too! I took my favorite hubby there jes' last week and he didn't fuss once. A miracle since he HATES dentists! Folks who have a few $$ tend to chip in a nice donation for care which is a good idea too we think.
Charges last week for two x-rays, exam, antibiotics, and pain meds were only 110 Lempira! (Under $7 USD!) If you can afford it PLEASE also donate all you can afford extra for your treatments there.
Doctors and dentists who would like to pitch in and help the clinic with a day or two of service, medical supplies or just about anything else are also welcomed! English is spoken there too.
Jes' my opinion--for what it's worth.
Thanks for reading this far. . .
