    This is good news...Bonnie has been a great friend of my family for many
    many
    years...we have known her since she was only one year old...I'll talk to
    her
    about the deer...someone should have a decent size breeding herd or two on
    the island that can be bred with other wild deer occasionally to prevent
    the
    deer from dying out as they did in the Virgin Islands and elsewhere. They
    were very likely introduced to the island by the native Paya long ago, but
    if
    they get down to one or two small herds they will run into genetic
    inbreeding
    and health problems and like on so many other islands, eventually become
    extinct.
