Places to stay in Roatan, The Royal Palms Resort: While visiting Roatan in mid March I came across a very nice, convenient and inexpensive place called the Royal Palms Resort. It is owned and operated by Romell Anderson a congenial man who possesses huge amount of knowledge of the island and how to get around while visiting. Royal Palms have affiliations with several dive operations and can set you up with a dive package while staying there. It is conveniently located in Sandy Bay about half way between Coxen Hole and West End. They are across the street from the Mini Golf Course and Commercial Roland. They are located less than one half mile from Anthony's Key Resort on the same side of the road east of Anthony's. Look for their sign on the main road. All of the rooms are air-conditioned, it is a quiet place to stay and the room rates are some of the most reasonable on the island at $25.00 per night. There phone number is 001-504-445-1815. I have no affiliation with the resort. I am just passing on this information hoping that someone else can benefit from the pleasant experience that I had during my visit to Roatan.
