    Subject: [roatan] Pesticide use

    Hello:

One of the people who was kind enough to reply to my request for information
on accommodations told me that the beaches are sprayed every day to keep
down the sand fly population. Is this true? Because I am deathly allergic
to pesticides, I am worried that Roatan would not be such a good place for a
person like me to visit or buy some property. Also, the pesticides would
run off into the water, which is very bad for the reef.

I have now been told that pesticides are forbidden/rarely used/used every
day. Does anyone know the story on this?

    Thanks a bunch.
