    Hi Everyone...
We are planning our first trip to Roatan in early
June. WE have been to Bocas and thought that we were
ready to buy some property there and just hold on to
it until we were ready to retire.

After lurking on this list, we've decided that maybe
we better come and investigate Roatan before we make
    that decision.

So, we have 10 days, hardly long enough to thoroughly
investigate, but at least we can decide if we need to
go back to Bocas or not.

WE are looking for a place to stay that will allow us
a good base from which to explore the island. WE
would also like to stay with a host that is very
knowledgeable and could advise us during our stay. WE
love to fish, and will definitely want to get some
fishing in as well, especially inside for permit and
bone fish. If we could fish from shore near our
lodging, that would be wonderful. We will also do
some snorkeling (we aren't divers...yet). We want to
stay in a place that is a little smaller, where there
are more opportunities to get to know our hosts and
really learn about the area. WE aren't partiers..per
se, but will certainly look for a place to down a few
beers and get to know everyone. We don't need
anything fancy, but we're on vacation, so want to be
able to relax and enjoy the hammock, and the beach.

We will rent a jeep for part of our stay, but would
also like to be able to walk to restaurants, etc., (or
get a water taxi or something) for the days that we
    don't have transportation.

Any ideas for the perfect location would be very
appreicated. Also anyone that can tell us about
fishing that time of the year, we'd love to hear from
    you...

    Thanks,
    Bill & Debbie
