"Then returning, we are supposed to fly out at 12:26 p.m.
Can we get out of Roatan and to SAP in time to fly
out, or should we fly over the evening before and plan
    on staying the night?"

Our flight at 11.20 a.m. out of San Pedro Sula. We stayed in
Roatan the evening before and made our flight. We found that we had
plenty of time for flying from San Pedro Sula on the morning of our
flight. Islena (which I don't recommend) starts flying with a
LaCeiba/SPS flight at 7am. Islena, now owned by TACA, will tell you
that they check the baggage thru to Miami. Don't fall for it. You
get to retrieve your bags in SPS like everyone else.

Why not fly Islena? They bumped us even though we had reservations
and were the 2nd customer at the counter at 6 a.m. They were very
rude about it, didn't provide any information as to what was going
on, gave me a curt "just go back to the counter, sir," etc. Sosa has
a flight that leaves right after the Islena flight. Islena has
another flight at 7.50 (?)a.m. directly to SPS from Roatan. And
then Sosa has another. I believe Atlantic may have flights as well.
These 3 airlines are scheduled to accomodate those 11am-noon flights
    out of SPS.

That provides you an extra night in Roatan without the need to
overnight it in San Pedro Sula. There is a travel agent in Coxen's
Hole, 2nd floor, near the grocery store. She is very helpful and can
make reservations for you if you are concerned about getting a seat.

    Hope that helps, Dave Borton
