Dear Group, Some businesses have been recently mentioned by members on the list. You can always visit the Roatan Directory to find direct links to their websites: http://www.roatanet.com/roatan Calling the US: I've used the Costco MCI prepaid cards as well and the rates are roughly $.50 US to Honduras and $.70 Honduras to US. The rates are similar for Sam's Club AT&T cards. To connect to the AT&T operator dial 800-0-123 and MCI is reached using 800-0-122 from any phone in Honduras. You can recharge your phone cards with a credit or debit card. Where to buy or build: I recommend contacting a realtor. Some people like the beaches, some like the hills (me for one), some have little island communities they prefer living in, and others want to live in developments with other expats. I'll let a realtor or other members get into the whole East End/West End question deeply as well, since different ends of the island are definitely more suited for different people and both have their attractions.
