am so sorry for the l;ost of this great man that was killed in such as cowardly way. I am from a third world country as well, and have been in roatan not too long ago............when can americans learn that regardless of how great and wonderful people you are, we are so ignorant that some of our own people will never care for those right principles of aiding somebody just because is the right thing to do ? corruption and lack of justice is the main reason why our societies are so screw up ! really ! is about education . we do not have that, in most areas. do not expect that in a little beautiful island like roatan, are diferent, it is the same corrupted situation than in the capitol or etc..........................some people are opossed to major hotels or airports being built in roatan . ? why? that will be the only way to have a much safer area in this place , since that will bring more money to the island and , will create jobs , to take care of tourist. only then , this criminal activities will change. it is so sad what am saying, it is , beleive I do understand the gravity of what am saying, but..... that is the only solution that I honestly see would be posible. polce will get pay a decent salary instead that they get more monet from the toughs ? even the corts will benefit, but only the contry of honduras can do this .......? wich is another corrupted country just like most of our hispanic countries in latin america ! any way we always have places like CAN CUN , been there 2 times. police cater to the tourist and they do protect us when we are out side in the streets.....can you beleive that ? I can I have been there . good luck and so sorry for your lost adios ------ | |
