Valerie- I think you are definitely looking in the right place. I just came back from Roatan(West Bay) and I spoke with two groups of people whose last holiday had been in Belize; one group staying in West End, the other in West Bay. Both groups felt strongly that Roatan was by far the better place in meeting their expectations. If you like a little more action and more in dive shops and eating places, go with West End; for the most beautiful beach and more solitude, go with WestBay. Either place, try Coconut Tree for accommodations---places in both WB and WE with a dive shop in WE. 011 504 445-1648. Great hospitality and respectful hosts.
