Ok, here's my testimonial. I am not being paid by the Cactus Juice people. I pay retail for my Cactus Juice.
When I am on the beach or any damp area in Roatan or Belize (the only two places I've ever been), I attract sand flies. I can't feel them biting, and often they are only biting me, and not other people. Anyway, 12 hours later, red dots everywhere. Maybe 20, or maybe an uncountable conglomeration of hunreds. Then twelve hours later, huges itching swelling everywhere, generally feeling of allergic skin reaction, and itching and more itching.
Then comes the late evening, when everyone in the room with me keeps saying, "Just quit scratching. They'll go away."
And I say, "Just let me scratch. They'll go away just as fast."
Then before bed, I take two Benadryls, and go to sleep. If it is really bad (like if I was on the beach/water at sunset), I will wake up again at 3:00 am, itching, and take another Benadryl.
Then the next few days to a week are just the normal itching of a thousand mosquito bites. Maybe one Benadryl to sleep. Then some scabs, which also itch and have to be scratched.
Locals are pointing, laughing. Long-timers are saying, "Gee, they don't bite me anymore." My friends are saying "If you don't stop scratching I'm gonna come over there and tie your hands behind your back."
When I use Cactus Juice, this doesn't happen. And it is very nice and fresh and feels good, so I like to use it, so I remember to not forget. And it won't make a sunburn hurt like normal repellant.
It also works on mosquitos, for me at least.
Some people vary in their body chemistry, and I guess for some people it might not work as well, but for me it is reliable in protecting me from sand flies and my baby from mosquitos, without poisoning us.
