Few safety concerns on Roatan or the bay islands. It's different here.
Just use common sense and you'll do fine. Is there any place in the world
that walking the beach at 2AM after a few too many drinks, alone, and
wearing expensive jewlery/carrying thousands in electonices is a good idea?

If you want info about staying here away from it all click the link below.

Weather today is warm--a bit cloudy but that may burn off as the day heats
up. Seas have ranged from flat calm to a bit choppy as little storms of the
season pass by or come close enough to chop up the water for a few days. It
is quite warm here now at night--A/c to sleep under is a good idea for
August/Sept months, but many places (including us) have A/c so it's NOT a
    big deal.

Best times to come here are many--my favorite month is July when it's
actually cool and we get evening showers in mid-summer weather pattern
    that's quite unusual, but GREAT.

Also early Spring months are nice here.

But ANY time is a great time to visit the islands!

But Summer is the time for wildlife! The parrots just squalked in the trees
as I'm writing this. Hummingbirds at our feeders are at an all time high! We
have have different varieties of them! Dolphins come by so close to shore
you can jump in and swim to them. Everything is blooming, fruit is on the
trees, and life is good. Less than average rains this year have
water clarity at an all time high on the reef right off our beach.

Also, for tourists needing a room, this is low season! Rates are great!
Cruise ships are down to one a week now until high season begins in November
    or so.

What recommendations can you give me for the nicest beaches, best
snorkeling spots, and best places to stay while in Roatan?

Also are there any areas that we should avoid, or any safety
    concerns for travelers?

    Thank you.
