    Subject: [roatan] Termites and other things


    Dear Group,
    This could be a new one but I was wondering if anybody knows about what kind
    of termites are on the Island. I was in Roatan about three weeks ago and I
    was wondering why everything is built with pressure-treated lumber. (when
    they use wood , of course). After asking around they told me it was because of
    termites. That is why most of the people that I talked to buy furniture
    made out of cedar, plastic etc. I know what's in treated lumber and I for one
    wouldn't like to use it if I can help it to build my house on the Island.I am a
    builder and I am looking for alternative ways and materials So, I would
    like to know if these are Damp Wood termites, Dry Wood termites., Subterranean
    termites and this would also include the almighty Coptotermes Formosanus
    termite. I don't know what this bug
    looks like but it sounds impressive! Any thoughts or comments about this I
    would appreciate it.

    And the other things is about the Temptation Island B.S. We should be
    asking two things to Fox Network:
    - what is the name of the makeup artist they use on the show or
    - what kind of repellent they were using because I didn't see one bite on
    those girls.
    The other thing is - we should be asking ourselves what are the names of the
    two dolphins swimming at the beginning of the show because I think they were
    the smartest mammals on the whole program. I think I know what they are
