Just an FYI for anyone on the island or stateside that might be interested................I am in the process of working with the National Sales Director for Medjet, and emergency air evacuation service, to bring a "group discount rate" to the Americans and Canadian residents of the island. They offer emergency service to evacuate you via fully equipped medical jet from the island to the states or Canada with medical personnel aboard, for visitors, part time residents and expatriates. It is sort of an insurance policy. They yearly fees are very low in consideration of the fact that if you did need to be air lifted from the island, it would cost in excess of $15,000 - $20,000. If you are interested, please email me off list. The more people that are interested, the better rate we will be able to get. I also need to get some idea of how many would participate in order for the sales manager to come to the island to give a presentation here. Individual and family rates are available. I am not an agent for Medjet, but being a nurse and knowing the importance of a rapid response for catastrophic medical emergencies, I feel that this is a very valuable and needed service.
