No one has mentioned the cost so I will say you can catch a "passing" taxi or a bus for less than $1.00 to West End. From there you can get a boat taxi to West Bay for a couple of dollars; not sure on that fee, exactly.
No need to get stiffed, right?
Be sure to carry lempiras for the taxis as they charge in lemps. Although they will take dollars, you miss making the conversion with your change being in lemps.
The ride to West End from AKR is only five minutes.
If you charter a taxi from AKR, you will pay a nice fee for that.
