No, i am certainly not a bug expert :-). Just a biologist who know´s his sources (At this least this is the only thing every well trained scientist should have in common.) I think you will to build it far to high for the Islands. I live in the fithed floor in the City of Mainz, Germany (Rhine River) and i still need Moskito netting in the window. But of cause, in the third or second floor you will have less unwanted visitors than on the groundfloor. Maybe planting Lemon smelling small plants all around the house will help a little bit, too.
