| | Subject: | [roatan] TO THE FISH COLLECTOR
|
Maybe you do not care about preservation or ecology. Why not collect from the Florida Keays? Because you can't. The US has taken measures to protect the reefs so why would you want to attempt to rape those of Roatan? For some real good collecting go to Jacksonville Florida Or South Georgia where Lionfish, yes I said Lionsish have become quite abundant and the local marine biologists are more than happy to see the erradicated because they are a non native species. Why would you want to collect fish from an Island that has already had so many environmental issues? There are plenty of farm raised of just about any tropical you are looking for. What is it you hope to collect? Maybe we can help you find a fish store with the same fish for a lot less than a plane ticket to Roatan. cowmowsow.....com wrote:i say- just watch Finding Nemo, especially with a little kid. Seriously, it just doesn't seem right to take the fish from the beautiful coral reefs to a fish tank at home. take some pictures, snorkel. dive, go to your local pet store. leave the fish where they belong. janice
