Hi Craig! I don't think you'll find any other piece of paradise much cheaper. And the fishing is super! Don't give up your plans. There are plenty of inexpensive, but clean, places to stay in West End, if you're not expecting the Ritz. Inexpensive places to eat also exist without food poisoning. You can also buy food from the markets and fix your own meals. Really, the grocery prices, give or take, are pretty much the same as the States, but decent inexpensive lodging is quite a bit cheaper here.
