Subject: [roatan] Sandy Bay West End Marine Reserves

I'm a student at the University of Pretoria, Centre for
Wildlifemanagement, and I'm wondering what has happened to the Sandy Bay
and West end Marine reserves. Have they become part of a national park? Or are
they still independent? Is the community still very much involved, and are
monthly fees from dive shop owners, restaurant owners, etc, still
applicable? How is ecotourism in this region developing? And most important,
how is the state of the coral reef and its inhabitants? I hope you can help
me to answer these questions, cause after my studies in South Africa I'm really
want to see with my own eyes what it looks like!
