Hi Mary. If you were there 10 years ago, you will see a lot of changes. Almost all of the "advertised resorts" refer to definitely did not exist when you were there last. There are two possible exceptions I can think (and there may be a 2 or 3 others). You can be sure that most have either been rennovated, rebuilt or updated. The two that come quickly to my mind are in West End and they would be Seagrape Plantation Resort at one end and Lost Paradise at the other. Seagrape lost most of their cabins in '98 to Mitch and have all been rebuilt from the ground up. Most of Lost Paradise's beachfront cabins are also new in mid 90's (I believe). As far as which beach is nicer - West Bay is the most beautiful beach on the island, no question. If you remember it from 10 years ago, you will be surprised at the development of the area today. Still, it's a pretty nice place. Enjoy your return trip. Sue --- original message --- We are somewhat familiar with Roatan, as we were there 10 years ago.
