I have been tentatively planning a trip to Roatan / Bay Islands for some years now. I believe I have reached that point in my life where I am willing to travel abroad, specifically to Roatan, despite some kind of safety net (whatever that may entail). I believe the best way to proceed would be to establish some kind of contact person in the Roatan area willing to provide assistance if the worst case scenario should happen to occur; but more likely, a friendly ear and voice of suggestion as I explore this particular area... of life and the culture =) I would like to stay in some of the hostels advertised on the Net, such as the Bananarama Resort & Diving Center. However, as luxurious and affordable Bananarama appears, it is more than I believe I need.
