Good afternoon all...
We have a total of 31 medical and(or) dental and(or) eye foreign volunteer missions to Honduras on our Missions to Honduras calendar (www.projecthonduras.com/missions).
Four of these missions will be sponsored by M.E.D.I.C.O. (www.medico.org) of Georgetown, Texas. I've been to Georgetown, TX... it's a great little city. Lynda Peters is the director of M.E.D.I.C.O. She is a veteran of at least a couple Conferences on Honduras (www.projecthonduras.com/conference), including last year's inaugural conference in Copan Ruinas. If you have any questions about M.E.D.I.C.O., please e-mail Lynda at director.....org. And certainly spread the word about these upcoming missions to anyone you feel may benefit from the services that will be offered. Thanks...
>> M.E.D.I.C.O. will sponsor a mission team to provide free medical, dental and eye services in the village of El Cisne (Copan) during March 6-13, 2004. The 23-member team will be hosted by Dr. Salvador Paredes and will include seven physicians, three dentists, one optometrist, five nurses and lay volunteeers.
>> M.E.D.I.C.O. will provide free medical, dental and eye services to Honduras during May 1-8, 2004.
>> M.E.D.I.C.O. will sponsor a medical, dental and eye mission to Honduras during July 10-17, 2004. The team will be hosted by the Centro de Estudios y Promoci=F3n del Desarrollo (CEPROD).
>> M.E.D.I.C.O. will sponsor its 90th mission to Honduras during September 11-18, 2004. The team will be hosted by Save the Children (www.savethechildren.org) and will work in the area of La Esperanza (Intibuca). By the way, we now have more than 3,000 people within the projecthonduras.com network. Our near-term goal is to build a movement of 10,000 people. I'm still hoping to reach 100,000 by the end of my earthly life... (... I plan to stick around until at least age 90, so that gives me 45 more years to do this stuff and see a different Honduras).
Cheers,
Marco
