Hi all, I'm hoping someone on list can help us. The Charity that we have been sharing office space with has decided to move out. So we figured we would just take over the whole office, because we needed more space anyway. We spoke with the landlord and she informed us that we could not stay because she did not want to rent to a charity anymore, "because charities are always late in paying." We offered to pay 6 months of rent in advance but she said, "No you must leave." Attitudes here on the island are very negative when it comes to AIDS/HIV so we figure that is the real reason she is evicting us. So now we must find new space to operate our project. If anyone knows of any office space, store front, apartment or other suitable space for rent in the Coxen Hole Area, that would be willing to rent out as a AIDS/HIV clinic please email me. Our project is Familias Saludables (Healthy Families). We are a privately operated project with administration fees coming from donations targeted specifically for that purpose, so rent should be as low as possible. We do not pay ourselves a salary but do it for the love of people. We do education presentations as well as testing. We supply formula to babies, Food, Clothing, and medicines to Clients and families affected by AIDS/HIV. We work closely with The Honduran Health Adminstration, Roatan Hospital, and all the clinics on the island.
