Can someone tell me if the reports I'm reading on TripAdvisor.com are true? People are writing that
the beach on Fantasy Island is awash in algea indicating pollution with human waste. Should I
    cancel my trip?

As of NOW almost all the Real Estate companies on Roatan have joined
the Roatan Realtor's Association and the MLS has now been
established on the Island. Not only adding credibility to the
industry, the Association enforces ethics practices in business and
client managment. This has been welcomed and all companies
adhereing to these standards are benefiting. We even go out once
per month to view the various listings from the members in order to
better serve our clients by KNOWING the inventory.

Ever growing and working on better serving the people that come to
Roatan to invest, RRA has published their second issue of the Bay
Islands REAL ESTATE GUIDE....a FREE publication that ifeatures over
58 pages of Real Estate listings available through the professional
licensed agencies participating in the MLS on Roatan.

Our various company's exclusive listings can now be accessed 2
ways... by picking up your Free copy of the Bay Islands REAL ESTATE
GUIDE at any restaurant, newsstand, leading Hotels, or simply go to

RADAR SCREENS -- CRUISE SHIPS CONTINUE TO TARGET ROATAN
Over 48 Cruise ships stopped by Roatan in the month of December
bringing well over 86,000 smiling visitors to the Island to tour,
    dine, shop and invest!

"It's definately the most beautiful port of call on the Cruise",
said one passenger aboard the Norweigan Dream--one of the many ships
that dock here weekly. "I can't believe the serenity and natural
    beauty here, still untouched".

Cruises to Roatan, departing from both Miami, FL and Houston, TX
have been increasing in number in recent years, partially due to the
increasing demand Cruisers are putting on the travel industry,
changing market trends for vacationers, and the popularity of our
friendly Island! This month we have 40 ships stopping in!

Mr. Horst Klose, who treated his wife, Marianne to a tropical cruise
vacation last week to celebrate their 46th Anniversary not only fell
in love with the people here, but purchased a going concern business
here, during his one day stay, and plans on moving at least part of
his company's operations to Roatan as soon as next month!! "I can
definately see a huge potential (for business)... and I want to be a
    part of it", smiles Horst.

NEW TAX BREAKS FOR PROPERTY OWNERS!!
RE/MAX has just been officially notified of the following affecting
    all property buyers......

The Honduran Congress has issued a " Law of Property" Effective
January 2, 2005 which substantially reduces the taxes which apply
    for transferring titles.

    The Good News:
The Sales Tax for Transfer of titles has been reduced to a flat 1.5%
    of the Purchase Price. ( Formerly 3% to 4 % )
The Stamp Tax has been reduced to 1.5 Lempiras per 1,000 Lempiras
    ( Formerly 3.0 Lempiras per 1,000 )
    The Bad News:
The Municipality of Roatan has imposed new fees for Cadastral
Surveys which are required to inscribe property sales:
For the first 200,000. Lempiras of the Contract Value a Flat Fee of
1,000 Lempiras plus 1% of the Value of the Sale or Contract Value
above 200,000 Lempiras. ( Formerly a flat fee of 250 Lempiras was
    charged )
The above Fee by the Municipality of Roatan essentially offsets the
purpose of the Law of Property issued by the National Congress to
reduce the costs of obtaining clear title to property and is under
scrutiny by the Real Estate community as this fee only applies in
the Municipality of Roatan and not anywhere else in Honduras.

All in all, we believe the reduction in taxes payable at the time of
registration of new sales will be very beneficial to those investing
in Honduras, as well as to those needing to get their properties,
held for years in their families via private documents, properly
    titled.
NEW PHONE LINES ON ROATAN MEAN NEW #'S
Recently, HONDUTEL, Honduras' own telephone company, in association
with SIEMENS has installed Fiber Optic cable throughout the Island
and Roatan is now beaming with new telephone lines where never
before has there been service available. In addition, many existing
numbers have been changed or are about to.

RE/MAX Bay Islands numbers have also changed effective NOW....PLEASE
    NOTE THESE CHANGES!

GOLF COURSE PROJECT GETTING THE GREEN LIGHT

Monceaux, COO of Rainforest Resorts, S.A., the company responsible
for the development, the residential community is awaiting some
final approvals on their plans and should be set for releasing the
1st phase of lots to the market by early February 2005. RE/MAX Bay
