Comparing Roatan To DC is ridiculous!
I lived on Roatan for almost a year in 2002-03, I don't know where you got your information or statistics on Roatan, but I lived & worked there and never once did I feel threatened or unsafe! Whether I was in West End or Coxen Hole, I never had any trouble in any way shape or form. Sure I heard about a few incidents here & there but these things happen EVERYWHERE!! Especially a third world countries... I would move back to Roatan or vacation there again without hesitation.
