Being from Up Here in the states, I'm literally in the dark on how the Justice system works down there.
Yes we all have heard of the "Mexican" jails and all that. But the law enforcement on Roatan, how much leeway do they have to make changes in how they do things? Or are they tied up with the laws of the mainland?
If so, would that be as a minimum,, or can they make the laws stiffer? Just thinking out loud here.
As far as the jail goes,, good, bad, repair,, I say who cares,, that place is to be a place of punishment , not a resort. And I feel every crime deserves to work for his keep. Bring back the chain gang so to speak. Make them work for their keep on public projects, good for the island, If they refuse, too bad they don't eat tonight. This is simple we have too far too long everywhere in most of the civilized world been too nice to criminals.
Is you don't want to suffer the horrible punishment,, then don't do the crime.
The medieval days of England had it pretty good,, minor offenses,, youd be placed in the Stocks for all to see, with your crime posted above you, Like Pick Pocket, or whatever the minor crime was.
this goes also for the more major crimes where they are on the chain gang, on their back it says why they are there.
other than amnesty international does anyone see anything wrong with this?
