Hi all, I am new to this list and have recently booked my first trip to Roatan for late April. I have to admit that my hopes for a great vacation have been somewhat overshadowed by the constant stream of emails about crime. Certainly I want to know that it is good to be cautious when traveling, but I'm getting the impression that I'm headed for trouble. If the criminals don't get me, the bugs will! I know there must be so much that's good about Roatan for people go back over and over again and even buy property and move there. So I would love to hear from those of you who are repeat visitors or residents and help me to anticipate reasons why I will enjoy my visit too.
