Sam, have no worries,you too will love Roatan.Unfortunately sometimes ,this forum is the best means of communication for people on the island,and there are too, issues that need to be addressed that perhaps seem much worse when read. We have recently moved here from the UK,and can quite honestly say everyone we have encountered;islanders,gringos,and migrant Spaniards from mainland have been great.The island has a lot of great things to see and do and a lot of interesting people that will make your trip a memorable one.Come with an open mind and be prepared to enjoy.The a..holes mentioned in other posts are few and far between,but there are those the world over,I'm sure you will agree.Don't let the concerns you have about them spoil a fantastic holiday!!
