Hi, This is typical for Roatan. Everyone was excited when the new phone company started (Telephono) in West Bay. It made Hondutel run new lines and Even got me a phone at my home. It went out once since I got it but they fixed it within two days. As for Telephono I understand that they started in West Bay but I know of one person who had it but then it broke and they haven't fixed it yet. There was also some controversy about the local calling numbers that you were to receive for free. Seems the exchange number they were using as the local calling number is no longer being used. (I got that second hand so take that with a grain) I know I signed up for a telephono line back in Sept. and they said it would be in Sandy Bay by Thanksgiving. Still not here. I went back last month to get my money back as I have the Hondutel line and they don't have it to give back(their words). Guess I can kiss that goodbye. So I guess what I'm saying is if the person you are trying to reach has a Telephono line that could be the problem. Those phone booths are popping up all over the island but I have not tryed to use one yet. Good luck! hra547 wrote: Hello - Can anyone tell me what is going on with phone service in Roatan?
