I would agree with Linda on this. These discussions are very important but not in this newsgroup. This group (I feel) is for the 'lighter' subjects.....diving/snorkeling, beer, sand fleas, cruise ships, restaurants. etc. The crime topics have to be a downer to someone who is going to be on the island for 8 hours while on a week long cruise. To answer the question "do you think that folks have the time or inclination to plug into yet another group?" I would say those that are involved with the island the answer would be yes. The 'vacationers' would not but why should they? The new group could be dedicated to efforts to improve security and perhaps be used to spread information about crimes on the island. I would like to see property owners added to the list of participants. We own land and are looking to purchase a house. We are very interested in seeing the islands security improved as we plan to retire there. I think that if it was a forum dedicated to internal affairs and open to those who are citizens, residents, business owners and managers, and long term inhitants it could be more positively productive with more open discussion. Do you think that it is the appropriate place for such discussions? If not, do you think that folks have the time or inclination to plug into yet another group?
