I would agree with Linda Kay that the Roatan list is not likely to be the proper place to discuss crime on the island. There is another, much older list dedicated to Roatan and things Honduran. It is found at: < list.hondo1.org > with the "1" being a one, not a lowercase "L". It was on that list that the topic of the most recent violence at Port Royal arose. The Hondo1 list is not dedicated to selling property, or renting to tourists or telling folks what and where to buy exotic imported furniture, and one cannot really expect the Roatan list to devote much time to crime...it is not in the interest of most of the people who are on the list to do so. My advice is to take the crime discussion to list.hondo1.org where it will and does often receive a great deal of attention. I have just returned very early this morning from the island and can assure you that people are talking about it and that the topic is alive and well. I can also assure you that crime on the island of Roatan is not something that is running wild as some have suggested. Good people are concerned and things will be done if the leadership emerges.
