Hi Ron,
You know, six months is a long time for them to still be itching. I have a bad reaction to sand fleas, and at times the bites can itch up to a month or six weeks, but six months is too long.
I have no medical training whatsoever, but since the sand flea reaction is basically a histimine reaction, I always take Benadryl anti-histamine, and if I don't have that, I get a recommendation from the pharmacy. So I can see why the Clairitin worked.
I would suggest more attempts with your doctors. Maybe a dermatologist? It seems like maybe the sandfleas triggered an ongoing reaction or allergy, and you should seek some more professional medical advice.
that's my 2 cents worth, hope you find something that helps.
