My original post did not cast aspersions on anyone involved in capturing the thief or those who took him to the station and no one should think that was the intent. Those that helped and caught the kid were all tourists and private citizens of Roatan and should be and were thanked for their help. The girls were not told to go to the police station right at that time or they would have. They did go the next day however and that's when they learned the kid had been let go. Having been there and had 1st hand knowledge of what happened up to the point of the kid being turned over, my statements were true. What happened after the kid was turned over was the info given us by the girls who were robbed and did go to the police station the next day.
