I had voiced my concerns regarding the developments way over a year ago. My first clue was talking with a well known realtor who disputed a lot of the rumors and media coverage. Claimed she had some good hints that it would not happen within the supposed timeframe, let alone at all. Looks like she was pretty much on target. So what happened to all the deposit money? Surely it was put into an escrow account in order to protect the pre-construction buyers, but then again, as the soothsayers say: "caveat emptor". Yep, that old adage still goes. As one who keeps a close watch on the happenings on the island, it's like mrhotdice suggested, stick to the basics and don't go for the pie in the sky deal. It's always best to do your due diligence, and then have an UNINTERESTED THIRD PARTY check it out also. Then maybe it might have a chance. By the way, things like this happen all the time and not just on Roatan. Rick

Another island boondoogle. You would think some people would learn. Did anyone on here really thing a golf course was in Roatan's future. If you did you probably lost your cash. Stick with the basics, go to the West End.
