I did not know him personally and I do not speak Spanish but I believe his name is Anthony. If I have his name wrong please forgive me as I was not understood with my English (yes I know I need to learn) I went to the funeral this morning and I was the only non Honduran with light skin there. He was a beautiful boy with pretty bluish eyes, great eyelashes. Very nice and friendly. Sold food to help his mama. You know in the US when a child is murdered the whole community rallies around the family, shows support by going to the funeral. This boy left 9 brothers a mother and a step father. After the service I offered to drive a large group including some of his brothers home, little did I know they want to go to the jail. So there were 3 car loads or more. they wanted to see the guy, have some answers. YELL. While they all were talking I just walked in and went back to the cells. I asked for him, he is 18. I think he came to the door cause he thought I was coming to help him. Little did he know I was not behaving very Christian like. If I understood correct, his sister turned him in and said this is not his first brutal act he has committed. Something about La Ceiba, a young girl and a man and young children here in Roatan and robberies behind the hospital here. We need to stand up go to the authorities and say enough. Even if this young man had never done any crime before, we need to keep him behind bars locked away from our babies here in Roatan. Please don't let this little ones death count for nothing---lets say enough and say it loudly.
