I've just returned from dinner at Rick's in West End. That's the "Rick" who, over the past decade, has owned and operated Rick's American Cafe and ROATAN RICK'S (both in Sandy Bay), not to mention managing Belvedere's for a good while in West End before moving to his current location. As such, he's a very well-known personality on Roatan. I asked him about some of his comments in this forum (particularly the one below) and he told me that people have been asking him the same thing for about a year now -- and it's not him!
Not that Rick has any exclusive right to use "Roatan Rick" but I think, at best, it's a poor choice of a forum name if you're not THE Roatan Rick. I've long thought that some of your comments were oddly uncharacteristic of the real "Roatan Rick" and now I know why.
BTW, Rick and a long-established RE agent who happened to be at the restaurant both said that they understand that Peter (of Port Royal) had been cleared of any charges long ago. Which leaves me wondering if the person who wrote the message to which you responded is perhaps operating on very new or very old, if not actually incorrect, information.

Injustice strikes everyone, and it just seems to affect ex-pats a little bit harder than the locals. Don't believe it? It seemed to be a clear case of self defense because the intruders had weapons that were used on the Americans and their lives were in danger. I'm told it has aleady costed thousands of dollars to hire an attorney to fight this case. > If anyone has up-to-date news on this case, please pass it along. It's very unsettling that those of us who have made Roatan our home can be charged with a serious crime for defending our lives and property. > Marcia Quinn Strehlow > castaways01....... > > > > _____ > Do You Yahoo!? > Tired of spam? has the best spam protection around > http://mail.yahoo.com > > > > > > > > > > > > http://www.roatanet.com > > > > ----------- > > > To visit your group on the web, go to: > http://groups.yahoo.com/group/roatan/ > > > roatan- > > the Yahoo!
