Thanks all for your prompt responses to my question. I have ordered a few bottles of Safe Sea which I hear works very well to prevent the sea lice from stinging areas that are protected. I can't get it locally, and since I'm leaving tomorrow, I paid more for the shipping than I did for the darn stuff, so I'm hoping this was a worthwhile investment. For Marcos, my knowledge is limited to a website where people talk about their experiences, but I have not used Safe Sea yet or been stung. This link seems to have quite a bit of information, including prevention and treatment recommendations: http://www.fau.edu/safe/sea-lice.html People who have used Safe Sea swear that it works. There are formulas both with sunscreen and without. Check out their website for more information: http://www.safesea.net/ I'm very excited about my upcoming visit to Roatan and appreciate the information provided on this message board. Sam McGuff marcos wrote: I got stung last year on the first week of December, they got me twice; once across my chest and another time on my right leg. The one on my leg is still itchy, I have seeing three dermatologists and they all prescribe me the same thing but nothing seems to work. I am very scare going back in the water, besides the pain, itch and burning you are also mark for life as it leaves a nasty scar.
Is there anything you can wear to prevent these guy from getting you?
