Thank you to everyone who responded to my inquiry on Bay Islands medical missions. Some of you took the time to e-mail me privately to express your concerns while many chose to use either the Bay Islands Genealogy listserver or the Roatan Yahoo group to respond. All of your e-mails have been sorted and are being reviewed by some of the doctors who will comprise the surgical team. Please trust that each e-mail is helping our group to understand who we should contact and how we should proceed. Ultimately, our group would like to do 7 to 10 days of surgical procedures. If seven days then four days of surgery and then three days of rest and relaxation and possibly being joined by family since there is a direct flight from New Orleans to Roatan. If ten days, then seven of surgery and three for R&R. Each recommended prospect will be called, e-mailed or phoned to see what is needed, what types of medical professionals are needed, what kind of equipment is needed and when would be the best time of the year to come as a team. I especially want to thank those of your who extended the caveat that many doctors who travel abroad on mission trips come to do what they want to do instead of finding out what is needed. Lastly, I will respond individually to each person who took the time to respond to my e-mail as a gesture of thanks and for your valuable advice. Thank you and God Bless, Kirt B.
