According to a Islander who told me about the person who shot the tourist policeman, he was from Roatan and had dual citizenship--U.S. & Honduran. I was told that people are not surprised by this at all since many folks agree that given his nature, something like this was likely to happen. Apparently this is not the first armed altercation this man had participated in. This is not to say that it is not sad nonetheless. Most people leave behind family who love them and suffer due to their death.

    HE WAS NOT A TOURIST!!!!

I don't have all the facts as I'm not there but I did
hear from a friend at West End that two people were
shot. I think it was a Tourist policeman and some
    American tourist.

Does anyone have any more information? I had read
about some other incidents in the past but this is
    pretty recent.
