Well people, you move mighty quickly! About 10 minutes after I sent out the message regarding Ronal Leonel, who was severely burned, I received an e-mail from my friend Dr. Kevin Hopkins (Kevin.Hopkins.....org) in Texas. Kevin simply picked up his phone and called Ileana Cerrato in Honduras to inquire about this case. Ileana informed Kevin that Ronal was transferred to the Shriners Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. Please keep Ronal in your thoughts. I suppose if you wish to mail a card (or whatever you think appropriate) to Ronal, please feel free to do so. On Friday (sorry about just now getting this out to you), we received an e-mail from Karen de Saybe in Honduras regarding 7-year old Ronal Leonel, who was severely burned when an oil lamp fell on him while he was asleep. Ronal is currently being cared for in the burn unit of the Hospital Escuela in Tegucigalpa. The Office of the First Lady of Honduras is working to obtain specialized treatment for Ronal outside of Honduras. In the meantime, there is a need to provide Ronal with medications and a waterbed. If you would like to offer your assistance in this case or can provide helpful contacts, please call Ileana Cerrato on her cell phone in Honduras at ((504) 941-1454 or the Office of the First Lady at (504) 290-0542. You may also e-mail Karen de Saybe at jfsaybe.....net. If you are in the Tegucigalpa area and would like to visit Ronal and perhaps take him a small present or a card, Karen has advised that it would be okay to do so.
