We stayed at Fosters West Bay Beach last March. It was alright, but I was not too impressed with the almost daily disturbance of the water supply, and a few maintenance items that were required. (Small holes in the screens, keys that stuck badly in the locks, to name two things). There is also a brackish pool of water near a couple of the buildings, which wasn't really smelly but still looked a little suspect.
On the bright side, the restaurant is good, and being so close, you can even take your meals on your own deck if you want. The location is nice, it is the quieter end of the beach.
In talking to others during our holiday there, we heard good things about Cabana Roatana; they also have a restaurant on the premises, and are directly in front of the best part of the reef to snorkel. Bananarama is right behind them, down a little laneway.
Just to throw in that the best restaurants, and a great variety of them, is to be found in West End village, a short water taxi ride away, or a 40 minute walk along the beach. We had also spent a week at a West End village guesthouse, Casa Calico, which suited us wonderfully (very quiet) and really enjoyed the village life.
