| Subject: | [roatan] Primary school transfer from Roatan to U.S. |
I'd greatly appreciate any advice or leads in regard to preparing a child for transfer from the Honduran public school system to a public school in the U.S. in such a way as to ensure that a grade isn't lost. This bilingual child is exceptionally bright and well- motivated but, unfortunately, has levels of achievement that reflect the abysmal standards prevalent in the most Honduran public schools. Currently in the 3rd grade, the objective is to enter 5th grade in the U.S. in September 2006, which would allow about 14 months for preparation.
