Subject: Re: [roatan] Ferrys to Islands

Actually i know about two regular Ferry services. The Galaxy II which
was the only ferry service for a couple of years and the Utila Princess.
Since it didn´t work out to have to Ferry Services to Utila the
companies cleared the market and Galaxy II goes to Roatan-La
    Ceiba-Roatan and the Utila-Prioncess goes Utila-La Ceiba -Utila. I
haven´t been on the Princess myself, but have had travelled too Utila
    with the Galaxy several times.
Actually the Carribean isn´t a rough sea compared to e.g. german north
sea. Since i have gone to the Island of Helgoland several times and also
have been on a nutshell like Research Vessel (The Uthörn) i really knwo
what seasickness means. I also got seasick on a giant meditereanen ferry
from Barcelona to Mallorca, but i never got seasick on the Galaxy from
La Ceiba to Utila or back.

Of cause it is a ship and people will get seasick on heavy weather or if
they are very easy getting seasick, but actually i don´t think that on
the travel from La Ceiba to Roatan it would be fair to call the Galaxy a
"vomit comet". It is a passenger ferry with international standards, in
good shape and absolutly no need to mention "seasickness" as a
speciality of the ship, instead it is rather stable and not very
rolling, compared to northseaferries i know in germany.

    kind regards
