There doesn't appear to be anything sinister about this outfit and they certainly only specialize in third world properties - so nothing odd there. It's a business decision whether or not you want to stay in your place any more than 6 weeks a year; and when you're not there you recieve revenue from those that are. Viva manages it and makes their cut, and what's wrong with that? Certainly not an optimal solution for everyone out there, but for others it's exactly what they're looking for. I don't understand the negativity on this subject. I say let them be.
>From their website:
"So who is Viva Wyndham? Since its inception in January 1997, Viva Resorts has become one of the fastest growing all-inclusive resort and management operations with eight properties in the Caribbean and Mexico.
Viva entered into a strategic alliance with Dallas-based Wyndham International, Inc., the Caribbean's largest hotel brand, in December 2003 to re-brand their resort properties as Viva Wyndham Resorts. Wyndham is a founding member of the Global Hotel Alliance, worldwide union of hospitality companies that provides guests with unique, personalized guest services."
