Ana - As you know, I read your posts here on the board as well as the earlier one by the folks at TropicalREZ concerning the event but have to agree with Ted that the marketing effort was too little and definitely too late. It not your fault I realize when the information was not released on LetsGoHonduras until sometime in early June. On an international event I would think you would want to look at something like a six month lead time on advertising as a minimum to get the word out. We book a number of US guests coming through La Ceiba on their way to the islands and would have been happy to have had several months additional lead time on advertising the event in the US. SunJam on Utila was held on the same weekend as you know. Perhaps if the event is to be held next year on Roatan some coordination of scheduling could be arranged. I notice at your Chamber of Tourism site (http://www.canaturh- bayislands.org/) that of the 23 members listed less than half seem to be hotel/resort type members. More participation and support from the local resort business community for its Chamber would help as you could get the word out to more tourism related businesses via an email list. P.S. I have not had a response yet as to our application for membership to the Roatan Chamber of Toursim which was submitted through your web site a several weeks ago.
