    The below message is forwarded. That's twice I've heard that DEET doesn't
    work on the sand
    flies. Seems to work for me, but bugs down there aren't too fond of me,
    unlike the microscopic size ticks and chiggers when I used to work in
    Kansas. I've also had some success with the natural citronella (and lemon
    grass?) stuff sold at Sueno del Mar.
